As a doctor I will say not. If we were to do that than we must deny the same to anybody who partakes in any type of unhealthy or risky living. People who don't eat a proper diet, people who are over weight, anyone who drinks alcohol daily or otherwise, people who don't exercise or who don't get enough sleep or who work with hazardous materials, or who own guns, or who drive fast, or who don't change the batteries in the home fire alarm, or don't clean the fireplace flues, or wear a helmet when biking or skiing, or those who parachute or do extreme sports or have . As a trauma surgeon who would not believe the situations I have seen over my years of practice. Yes smoking can contribute to a variety of illness and disease but it is not the entire reason. Hell, get everyone genetically tested before providing health care and 95% of the world would be turned down, myself included. Rather I would like to see more health care funding go towards more proactive resources to helping people quit smoking. As is stands, people who smoke or have smoked do pay higher premiums for private health care.

Hiccups and taking pills?

Hey there. I am starting to take a couple dietary supplements with my meals now. Before then, I never had problems with hiccups. Recently though, I have noticed that several times a day I will randomly hiccup. It's getting annoying. Maybe more frequent too...the only thing I can think of as being the cause is that one of the supplents I take comes in the form of a HUGE pill. It's the lagest pill I've ever seen actually. lol and after I take it I have to eat food otherwise I still feel it in my throat. Could taking a pill this big be the cause? Car wonders and shakes like its driving drunk!!! PLEASE HELP!!!?

OK... Heres my story. I took my 2000 ford escort sedan to a alignment shop and they told me i needed a inner tie rod on the drivers side and the rack and pinion bushings. So I did them. Went to another place and they said do the front struts..Which i knew were worn out.. So i did them. I also did the both outer tie rods and the right side lower ball joint and rear sway links. I got bran new kumho powerstar tires and had them balanced. I also had to replace the right rear trailing arm because some idiot jacked it up from there and it was bent up. So after replacing all that i had a 4 wheel alignment done at break masters. I have noticed that when going down the highway around 50-65 MPH and up it shakes, vibrates and i can see the steering wheel shimmys back and forth a little bit while im driving. I have tightened everything twice, maybe 3 times and nothing seems to help. The right side CV axel is spraying greese in the rim so i keep cleaning it to locate the crack or tear or whatever and there is nothing. Its coming out of the seal closest to the tire. I dont know if its worn out so bad its overheating and just leaking? But the handling problem is only on the highway. And it kinda feels like the car is driving drunk. Or trying to go different ways like the wind was blowing. Oh and also the rear struts might need to be changed since their starting to leak oil. But i dont think that would cause the steering problems. And also i was wondering if the sway bar bracket bushings are suppose to have any space between the bushing and bar when the car is lifted in the air? Could it be caused by a cv shaft? Sway bar bushings? Rear struts? Can someone please help me out with this crappy situation??? Its really getting to me.

Why am I ENVIOUS of her Success?

Okay. I've known her since my freshmen year of college. We were the same major, both became Editors of our school newspaper and both pledged the same sorority. She was more popular on the academic side (Sum *** Lade s/p. she was featured in magazines for being the 'Queen' and a legacy attendant of our school) But I was more popular social scene wise, though I still had noteworthy academic accolades. The flour in your recipe is used as a thickener. The reason it has you add it before the stock is first to cook off the pasty flour taste, and second, so you have a chance to easily stir out the lumps. The longer you cook the flour before adding the stock, the darker it gets, and that would make your soup a darker color as well. One TB of flour isn't really going to have much of an effect on the soup in the end though. Your method of mixing the flour with the stock and then adding it removed the possibility of lumps.

Depends on how much you want to spend! You didn't mention if you already sew well (which you may, although new to quilting). If this is a new venture for you you will want to get something along the lines of a nice reliable Singer. As your skills improve you will outgrow the machine, but by that time you will be knowledgeable enough to know in which type of machine you want to invest several thousand dollars in. I still use my Singer for tough stuff - upholstery, curtains, etc. I have three machines total - the Singer, a $4,000 Viking, and a long arm quilting machine. The Singer is over 30 years old and going strong! Hope this helps.

Guy friend problems HELP!..?

So last December everything changed between me and my really good guy friend Joe. So i met Joe Dec 2006 through a bible study i was going to and we became closer in March of 2007, and we just got closer from then on. We would hang out a lot alone and in groups and would call each other a lot. I kinda could sense he might like me..and i really liked him but i wasn't going to say anything to him because I'm just old fashion that way where the guy is sup to make the first move or something. So one night there was all this crap going on w/ him and he really wanted to talk to me about girl problems. So we were talking about it and he was really stressed out about why this girl was causing all this drama and he said "man..Caryn wouldn't it be great if we were together"..and i said "well..ya... you are the closest i have ever been w/ a guy before and i can talk to you about anything"..and he said "i feel the same way". And we were both like..."what just happened"...and then he started to tell me he liked me since he met me and what he like about me, and i responded w/ the same. We talked until almost 4am. And we agreed to be boyfriend and girlfriend. So it was Dec 22nd the next day and i went to work the happiest i have ever been in my life! And i called him on my break to see how he was doing and to see if we were still on for getting together later tonight after i get off. And he said "ya of course we are getting together..but i need to talk to you about something". And i was like "is it good or bad" and he said "bad"..and said "umm Joe since it's bad just tell me now because i can't wait 4 hours until i get off work tell me!"..and he broke up w/ me! i was soooo mad and just like what the heck man! and he told me it was a bad time to be in a relationship. And i was still mad because why didn't fig that out before last night when everything happened! and so we just kind of avoided each other for about two weeks.. but i really missed him as a friend and wanted to mend it. And on new years eve the bible study got together and he came and we barely said anything to each other. So a couple days later he called me and we worked things out and we were friends again. Question about cooking chuck roast beef in the crock pot...?

First of all I've cooked roast before (successfully). The situation is a little different this time though. I let the roast cook on low last night from about 11 until now. I added the veggies at 8 this morning upon which I turned the crock pot to high to try and cook the veggies asap. It is now 9:20 and the roast is done but the veggies aren't. I'm goin out of town and probably won't be back until 5. Should I take the meat out and leave the veggies on low? Should I leave it all in on low? There's a "keep warm" setting too, should I use that, or should I just take it all out and cook the veggies on the stove top when I get back?

My boyfriend loses his lust when hes in love - how do we fix this?

Ive been dating an older man for over 5 months. Hes 51, im 38. He has a history of losing the lust and ual drive for his partner when he falls in love. Its happened to him a few times in the past whenever hes been in a committed realtionship. We are very happy and very much in love, we have communication and honesty and are both ually attracted to one another. I am in a very bad marriage. I found out I might be pregnant and took a test. It came out a weak positive.
