Melodic Death Metal Or Technical Death Metal..?

Although Meshuggah is F'n awesome, I have to lean towards the Melodic side. Its tough to pick a side, but as Tech Metal has a more jagged sound, Melodic is deep. I can just throw on a Dark Tranquility or In Flames album and just be good.
